How My SOS Family Alerts Are Sent
GET FOUND QUICKLY
The My SOS Family personal safety app utilizes the GPS services on your phone to swiftly transmit your precise location, ensuring rapid location identification in times of need.
4 FAST AND SIMPLE WAYS TO TRIGGER AN SOS
1. OPEN APP & HIT THE SOS BUTTON

A design that is clear, simple, and intuitive greets users upon opening the app, immediately directing them to the "Help" screen with a clear on-screen message. The app is engineered to prevent accidental triggering of SOS alerts. For swift access, users can add the app to their home screen by long-pressing the app icon and selecting "Add to Home.

2. HOLD THE APP ICON & “SEND SOS”

Trigger alerts without opening the App.
Long press the App Icon >menu opens >tap “Send SOS”.

3. TWO SECONDS TO SEND SOS – LONG PRESS THE POWER BUTTON
​
Long Press the Power button even lock screen (don’t turn off phone).
Enable the ”Send SOS by Power button” feature in >App >Menu >Settings
​
4. SWIPE DOWN PRESS ‘SEND SOS’ BUTTON USING SHORTCUT TILES.
Takes 2 Seconds to get help without unlocking your phone. Instructions:
a) Drag the top all the way down to see full menu.
b) Tap the pencil icon to see Edit menu.
c) Long-press My SOS Family Logo that says “Send for Help” usually bottom right (touch until you feel a vibration or you can move it) &
d) Drag tiles into the top tray to see them and out if you do not.
3 WAYS TO USE VOICE COMMANDS
1. THE APP TALKS TO YOU

Designed for sight impaired (blind) users, you can open the App with voice (OK Goggle) too.
Whenever App opens it says “Would you like me to send for help” Simply reply “Yes” to send SOS.
Enable “Voice Interaction” feature in App settings.

2. SILENT VOICE TRIGGER PHRASE
​
Whenever App opens, it listens for a voice trigger phrase “Help me”. Change the phrase in Apps settings.

3. USE VOICE / GOOGLE TO UNLOCK SCREEN AND OPEN APP

Designed for when you can’t reach your locked phone.
4 UNIQUE SAFETY FEATURES
1. SET SOS TIMER
​
Think of it as reaching out to someone for help if you don't return. If you're feeling vulnerable or uneasy about your safety, utilize the in-app timer to schedule delayed help alerts. If the timer isn't deactivated and the countdown reaches zero, SOS alerts will be automatically sent with your pre-set message, as if you had manually activated the app.
Initiating the timer synchronizes with My SOS Family remotely. Even if you lose reception or your battery runs out, My SOS Family will keep counting down and dispatch alerts to your emergency contacts unless halted.
2. AUTO-DIAL EMERGENCY SERVICES

Save time by simply pressing one button: we'll alert your emergency contacts while simultaneously dialing emergency services on your phone.
Enable "autodial emergency services" in the app settings to activate this feature. You can also customize the emergency services number from there.

3. AUTOMATIC BACK-UP WHEN NO DATA CONNECTION
​
When there's no data connection or data roaming is disabled, such as when you're abroad, the app will automatically switch to creating an SMS. Just tap send to notify your emergency contacts.

4. ALTERNATIVE SPEED-DIAL FUNCTION
Making a single call to trigger Alerts.
Your login shows your “SOS call number”.
Add it as a favorite contact.
You can call this new contact even at the lock screen. to trigger alerts.
PERSONALIZE SOS ALERTS
Personalize your alerts with a custom message and include a photo. This feature is particularly helpful in situations involving stranger danger, especially when utilizing the SOS Timer.

IN-APP SHORTCUTS
​
Access the two small icons situated in the top right corner. The clock icon serves as a shortcut to the SOS TIMER screen. The location icon functions as a shortcut to the HELP screen while navigating within the app. The identical icon within the HELP screen displays your current location.

SEND REGULAR UPDATES
​
f your loved ones frequently worry about your well-being, utilize the check-in feature to reassure them of your safety, update them on your whereabouts, or inform them of your upcoming plans. In case of an emergency, you can promptly call for assistance.
This provides peace of mind to everyone involved and creates a log for reference in case of any incidents. It automatically includes your location, along with any custom message and photo you choose to add.
