APP PRIVACY POLICY

The service works by sending emergency alerts to the QRFup Quick Reaction Force Response Team.  You will be required to first register to use the services with QRFup..

By providing phone numbers, you agree to receive text messages from us, these will be phone calls and text messages from the QRFup Response Team or our automated platform.  Messages will be PIN Codes (OTP) or informatiom so you can log into your account, or updates of status and response information.,  These messages are known as transactional  messages and will be sent because you initiated them.  We will not send you marketing messages and we will never  sell or lease your personal details.

By downloading the app, you understand this emergency alert service is on an “as is” and “as available” basis​​ and therefore you agree to use the service knowing that there are risks, and that we or any of our partners or agents are not responsible or in any way liable to you or anyone for any impact of the service not working.

Sending and Receiving Text Messages and calls are free in your location, however when roaming abroad some carriers my charge for receiving phone calls and data usage, please check with your carrier that receiving calls and SMS's and data usages do not incur additional charges.

Quick Reaction Force Response Team
When you send an SOS, your local QRFup Response Team  will receive a text, email and phone call, and will provide the emergency support you need. You can choose whether you want 911 to be alerted too,

Accessibility API (for Google App users)
In order to allow the Power Button Long Press event to trigger alerts, the App requires access to the Accessibility service API. To enable this feature, user should grant Accessibility permission.

The App uses accessibility capabilities only to achieve the Power Button long press event and Accessibility API does not collect any personal information other than the location.
 

Location Data
Used in Alerts beause If you require assistance and activate features that involve sending alerts, your location data allows us to direct a quick response team to your exact location for faster support.

​Our app collects precise and coarse location data, including your static location (when you're not moving) or your real-time location tracking, with your permission. We collect this data only if you first provide permission for the app to access your location data and then when you choose to activate features like the SOS button, the SOS timer or the Share My lLcation feature within the app these are because they  require location-based alerts or support.

We collect location data to send your latest location in alerts even when the app is closed or not in use..

You have the option to Opt out and stop sharing location by changing the Apps permission to access location services.  Disabling location sharing will limit your ability to use features that rely on location-based alerts or support dispatch.

Wear OS
The App is available as a companion App for Wear OS devices,

You must first download the Phone App and enter your account details to login to the app and then link the Wear App from within the Settings page of the App,


Instructions on how to link are available in the "settings" screen of the Phone App;
Open the Phone App and from the menu select "Settings", scroll down to Wear.


Access to Voice / Speech to Text.

The App Alert process can be triggered using your voice, you must first allow access to the Phone's microphone to enable you to interact with the App voice commands and responses.

Access to Camera / Images / Videos.

You can take images using your camera or short videos from within the app or access photos or videos saved on your phone and attach these to your SOS alerts that are sent to the Response Team, to do this you must allow access when permission to access these is requested by the App.

App data use / mobile phone signal 

The app requires an internet / data connection and reception to use features.

If no data/internet connect is available, the app creates an SMS message ready to send (as a back-up method) or you can call (speed-dial) the special number (porivded by us on request) to trigger the SOS alert process.

Our Terms and Conditions of use which you signup to when using the App mean you will have a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sub licensable right to use the application and prohibit reproduction rreverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application format, processes or layout in full or part

  • other information relevant to care needs of users of the App, Alert and Response service and products.

  • We use 3rd party services that anonymize your ID for example Google's Firebase database.
     

WHAT WE DO WITH THE INFORMATION WE GATHER

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • Ensure you and your Resonse Team know when you need help, the contact information we hold always remains yours.

  • We also wish to inform you on how to use the App and services and products and will send instructions and tips to help you get the best out of the products and services.

  • Collaborate with the CDC, ADA and other crisis response organizations to understand where more resources are needed.

  • Internal record keeping to ensure aftercare needs are met.

The App and messages may contain links to pages to websites or oher Apps. However, once you have used these links to leave our App, you should note that we do not have any control over other websites or App. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting other sites or Apps and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website or App in question.

CONTROLLING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

You may choose to restrict the collection or use of your personal information in the following ways:

  • whenever you are asked for App permissions , look for the box that you can click to indicate that you do not want to provide permissions, please remember that some App functionality may be adversely affected and not work, for example if you do not allow permission to access your location we cannot send this to your Response Team. 

  • if you have and reservations or want to change any personal information or delete it , you may change it via the App or you can email AppAdmin@qrfup.org

  • We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.
